Long Past Due

So, I am a bit of a blog stalker, I'll admit it. I love to check and recheck the blogs of people I love, and admire, and I get stinkin' irritated when they don't update... Then I look at my blogs and feel woefully ashamed.

To remedy this I am updating, and will update more often. (How many times have I promised you this?)

October-

21st- 31st: Hudson turned 4! I can hardly believe that I have such a big boy! Grandpa and Grandma Griffin came to visit and we had a great time. That Saturday, Hudson had his birthday party at the bowling alley with his friends. For Halloween Hudson was a giraffe. I figured it was the last year I could pick something out that is cute before he'll want monsters or something. But he also got a skelton Hoodie from Walmart, and took great delight in running through the store terrorizing the shoppers, while I tried to chase him, laughing so hard I had to stop every few feet so I wouldn't lose bladder control. He got tons of candy and had a lot of fun

November- Hudson is doing really well in Head Start. He got terrific scores on his LAP tests, and gets along well with his friends. He loves his Teachers. I get to go almost every friday to volunteer in his classroom and I enjoy myself alot.

For Thanksgiving we got to travel to see my grandma in Idaho. We stayed at my cousin's house and had a fantastic time there. Hudson did really well on the long drive. His favorite part was seeing the "ghost on the mountain" which is really "Our lady of the Mountain," a huge statue on the mountain in Butte, MT. At night it is all lit up. On the way home, Hudson looked out of his window and shouted, "She waved at me!!!" It was cute

December: So far. Hudson is really excited to be a big brother in April. We have finally made the announcement to all our friends and family, and Hudson couldn't be more eager to help when his brother is born. I am nervous, but I know things will work out... They always do. We will have to come up with a way to have the two boys share a room, and that will be interesting. We'll have to see how it goes.

Pictures are to come, as soon as I can manage. :)

Is this not the cutest kid in the world? I mean... really.

"I'm Scott!"
Hudson comes leaping out of his bedroom, swashbuckling and waving his sword around poking bad guys and monsters, proclaiming, "I'm Scott!"
"Who is scott?" I asked, frankly baffled.
"I am!" He said, like, duh mom!
"Oh... ok."
He's not scitzo- apparently it's just imaginative play... :) cute huh?

Hudson has started at head start, and he loves it! He gets to ride a big (big compared to him) yellow bus to and from and he has really enjoyed his teachers. He's super smart and enjoys being with his new friends.

I am glad he's in the program. It is fantastic! It is well organized and consistent for him, and since I don't work on Fridays I can go and volunteer in his classroom. It's fun to watch him interact with his teachers and the other students, and it makes me feel like I am contributing by being there.

I will post bus pictures soon. And I will try to be better at updating... can you believe that my baby is almost 4? Wow!

Fort Benton Days-

Just about an hour away is a cute little town called Fort Benton. It's right on the river and it's very scenic! We went there for a parade because well, what else is there to do? Hudson had a blast.

June Tractor Show

It rained.... Hudson didn't seem to like it, but it made me homesick for my native land. . . no one else dared go out in it, but as a true Seattlite, I went... You know most people here have only had one umbrella as a child. I got one every year with my back to school wardrobe... hmmm.

Ah summer, wonderful warm days spent outside in the sun, lazy sleep in mornings and stay up late nights... it's little wonder that I haven't been inclined to post. :) I do have some wonderful photos and videos of my little wonderful guy. He's been a real treat to be with this summer, and I am sad to see the summer end in just a few short weeks and I'll be back to my long days without him... :( But, if my Mary KAy business takes off like I am hoping it will, I will someday be able to stay at home with him... :) at least until he's off to school and by then, who knows, maybe I'll collect another one...
Here are a few from June. I will upload more tomorrow... but don't take my word for it. I've got summer brain.

Hudson had a great time visiting family and friends in Seattle Memorial Day weekend. Here is Hudson with his "best girl" Britton. The other day he was going on about how he's going to marry her, but first he has to get bigger and she should get bigger too.... :) I swear I am not putting ideas into his head... although, it will be funny to have them look back on these photos when they are teenagers.

Lucy had fun too, she seemed to really like stealing the golf balls just before they dropped in the holes. :) She's so cute, but all I seemed to get from her was this skeptical look... I guess I'm just not to be trusted yet!

Hudson playing with Grandpa Moore's John Deer Tractors. They were having a great time!

A View From Hudson

Grandpa Moore was going to e-cycle the HP camera we gave them before Hudson was born because it's only 2.1 Megapix and can only take maybe 40 pictures. It has a slot for an SD card but we've never had any luck with it, it only fries the things... Anyway, why not give it to Hudson and let him have some fun with it? So even though he likes to get his fingers in front of the lens, I think he's got some talent with composition! Very edgy!

"I guess it passed the comfort test"

We bought Hudson a new booster seat yesterday because he has outgrown his old one. This one is a nice model, but we got it on sale for $35.00- it's arms go up so it's easier for him to get in all by himself! :) Anyway, jason put it together and we had it sitting out in our living room until we can get it in the car and Hudson wanted to watch a movie while sitting in it. This is what happened... pretty cute huh? I guess now we know it is comfortable!

Lots of pictures today! Today Hudson was sick so he stayed home to rest. Yesterday I took him to the doctor to get a well child check so he could register for Head Start next fall. They had those little hospital masks to take for free by the door so I grabbed one for Hudson. On the way home I reached back in the car and handed him one. "Here Hudson," said, "now you can pretend to be a doctor."
At the next stop sign I glance back at him and he's wearing it like a yamika and singing "I'm doctor Hudson!" I cracked up. He has since figured out that it's a mask, but I think he prefers it the other way! :)

Look at the goofy face he pulled at the camera!!! What a hoot!
Hudson enjoys helping daddy with the wooga wooga car! :)

Hudson loves to help mommy do the dishes. (If only he were big enough to do them all by himself! ... and by that time the fasination fades considerably...) He discovered while helping me rinse the spoons that he can see himself in them!

Hudson's new favorite past time. Bowling! I can't believe they make shoes in his size. He had a great time and asks to go back almost every night.

"I wanna wear my winter coat!" Hudson bellowed this morning at 7:08 as we were getting to leave the house.
"Oh Hudson," I said holding up his polar fleece jacket, "It'll be too warm for your winter coat. It was almost 80 degrees yesterday."
"No! I want my winter coat!"
"Ok, ok, you win."
Hudson shrugged into the fluffy waterproof coat and head out side. Hmmm, I thought, as we left the house, it is a little chilly this morning.

later that day-

11:00 at last, time for lunch! I walk out of the ISS room, which is also called the pit because it is partially underground and has no windows, and what do I see out the front windows of the school? A blizzard. Snow falling thick and white, and although it wasn't sticking I was so frustrated that the weather here in Havre could be so bipolar... or in this case, just polar....

meanwhile... across town.

Hudson stood looking out the window at Sharon's house, his eyes wide with surprise.
"Sharon, I think it's snowing." He said sagely, and then a few moments later, "Yup, it's definitely snowing..."

So I guess Hudson knew what was up, it's a good thing I listened to him.

Here's a pic from the new web cam. :) Hudson could look at it all day. :)

It is such a beautiful day here in Havre, MT! The sun is shining and it's warm. We slathered Hudson up in sun block and spent an hour two in the back year enjoying the weather, blowing bubbles, playing with Sidewalk chalk, and playing with his new t-ball set. I won't lie, he doesn't show much disposition to being athletic at this stage in life. I know two year olds that can shoot baskets and hit home runs, but Hudson seems more interested in music and dance so far, and that's wonderful. We want to encourage him to pursue that which interests him. Neither Jason or I are very athletic and so there's no pressure for him to be the highschool football star years from now, but if he's interested he'll have our full support.

He's heathy and happy and loving life!

Ok, so this is a long video, but worth it if you want

a little glimpse into our Easter. Hudson really had fun getting in the spirit of things.

I have another blog! -- a spin off, if you will, from the original. I hope it sees more success than
"joey" from friends had.

www.1moorething.blogspot.com

It's a blog about me... :) I spend a considerable amount of time blogging about Hudson, but very little about me or the family in general, so.... it's my new blog. . . check it out, because I will be doing both blogs from now on.

Hudson is doing well. He's mostly over his crankiness, and has allowed me to take some nice pictures, although I am afraid I resorted to some pretty low tactics to get him to smile for me... I over reacted when he said "poop" and was like "That's soooooo gross!" which made him say it more and more and he was laughing so hard he cried and got the hiccups... we don't abide potty language, but since he was laughing I let it go...

Sunday, April 05, 2009

I know grandma hates these, but in an effort to explain why I haven't updated in a while.... Hudson was sick for a while in March and then really cranky for the weeks following and I didn't have enough energy to blog, let alone waste time trying to get a smiling pictures... for a long time it was tantrum after tantrum after tantrum.... but he's MOSTLY over it! :)

Lucky you!

The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me!

My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.It may be a story. It may be poetry, shoes, bags, or a little invention of my own! I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. Believe me... it may blow your mind!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!Sounds like fun, right? So, let's play!

Email me your addresses at scrapbookmomma@gmail.com
So I can sent them!

We know by now that Hudson Moore is a goofy kid, but here are a few pictures to prove it. (I've got more, but I didn't bring them to work with me this morning, so they'll have to wait for another time.) The first pic is Hudson with a McDonalds Happy Meal box on his head, he was using the M on the handle as glasses... apparently this gave him super powers, and I was laughing so hard I couldn't warn him that he probably couldn't see good and may get hurt. Fortunately he didn't, unfortunately it is now one of his new favorite toys... The second picture is a little harder to explain. Hudson only wears a pull up for overnight or sunday naps... He's not wearing pants because he was already asleep when I got the pull up on him. Anyhow, I was on the computer when he woke up and I could hear him banging around in his room for a while before he imerged with one sandle on and one sneaker with a black sock, he danced around the room for a minute and then disappeared again... Also, he's been referring to himself as Rudolf the RedNosed Reindeer for the past few days... I don't know... don't ask...
